Blumark Tax Advisors LLC acquires Sheri L Schumann Tax & Accounting, Inc.
Combined offering expands services, deepens resources and enhances expertise
Troy, Mich., January 17, 2023 -- Blumark Tax Advisors LLC (Blumark), a leading boutique tax advisory firm, today announced it has acquired Bay City-based Sheri L Schumann Tax & Accounting, Inc. Both firms will continue to operate under their respective names.
This acquisition reflects Blumark’s commitment to investing in resources to best serve its clients and positions the firm well for strategic growth. Founded in 1999, Sheri L Schumann Tax & Accounting Inc. has grown to be a leading provider in the market backed by a seasoned staff.

Combined Operation Will Provide Clients Diverse and Expanded Tax Services
TROY, Mich. January 27, 2022 -- Blumark Tax Advisors LLC (Blumark), a leading boutique tax advisory firm, today announces its acquisition of The Svoboda Group LLC, of Northville, Mich. The combined operation will operate as Blumark.
The Svoboda Group was established in 2005 to provide personal and business tax and accounting services. Over the past 16 years, its range of services continued to grow in response to its client’s needs, and in response to changes in tax law and the overall business environment.
“This is a significant move for Blumark Tax Advisors, as it further expands the work we can do for our clients,” said Chris Reid CFP®, EA, Director of Business Development – Blumark. “We also are fortunate to have the entire Svoboda Group team join our organization. The addition of their insight and expertise will improve the experience for all of our clients.”

Blumark Announces $50,000 Naming Gift to University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies
Michigan-based financial service and tax advisory firm invests in SRNA community with national education enhancement fund
DETROIT, Oct. 8, 2020 – University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies today announced a $50,000 gift from Blumark, a Michigan-based boutique financial service and tax advisory firm. Juan Enrique Gonzalez, PhD, CRNA, director of the school’s Nurse Anesthesia program, made the announcement.
“Blumark’s generous investment in our students sets a strong philanthropic example that supports our commitment to developing highly educated certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs),” he said. “It will be a great incentive for our students to know they have some help to attend these very special professional programs that really get at the heart of the profession.”
Over the next five years, Blumark’s gift will provide financial assistance to student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs) attending national anesthesia conferences, virtually or in-person, and other elevated educational opportunities outside of the normal classroom setting. Blumark has been supporting front line health professionals since 2005.
“There was a clear need for this,” says Shannon Klug, CEO, Blumark. “Attending conferences and participating in industry associations is critical in creating relationships and setting the foundation for a strong professional future. We want to ease financial burdens for SRNAs and allow for easier access to the highly valuable professional development tools.”
A debriefing room in the school’s Simulation Hospital for Advancing Research and Education (S.H.A.R.E.™) has also been named after Blumark in recognition of their long-term commitment to SRNAs.
“Nurses are the heart of health care,” says Klug. “Our investment in students is really about the long-term relationship. It’s about working together with students just starting off in their career. We are truly in this for the long haul, through the good and the bad.”
